The body as a site of power differentials and forms of resistance, as well as the tension between fixed identity and fluid identifications.
The act of eating powerfully suggests many different interpretations (from the ritualistic to the consumerist), which in any case, always means taking something into the body and feeling its effects. Furthermore, what I consume during the performance is suggestive of the Self as being merely the effect of a play of differences within a power-laden discursive field of postmodernity.

It makes sense then that the performance initiates with the external marking of the body, as a way of claiming oneself and perhaps establishing a kind of safe border with the outside. Without offering a resolution, the cacophony of things I eat seeks to simply lay bare the conflict between the social conditions and my own desire.
